Admission: $10. Children 12 and under are free.

Fiber History Tour: 11am & 3pm

Begin the tour in the Hallock Homestead as you learn about the role fiber played in the lives of the Hallocks and other families on the North Fork. Venture to the attic to see the family’s barn loom. Next you will be guided over to the Homestead Barn to learn more about the history of Fiber production with Kathryn Wojciechowski. Kathryn, owner and operator of Old School Wool and Weaving Center in South Otselic, N. Y. as well as the director of CNY Flaxseed to Fabric Initiative and leader of the Heritage Cloth Makers Guild, will be speaking about Flax, Linnen and the Broader movement to revive heritage cloth making and how it is taking root right here in our region.

United We Weave: Community Weave-In

Join award-winning sculptor and fiber artist Sherry Davis for a unique community art experience by participating in the creation of United We Weave — a large American flag woven from repurposed fire hose. This patriotic collaborative sculpture celebrates connection, reflection, shared memories, and community spirit.
Davis is best known for Harvesting Memories in Blue, the striking 12-foot geodesic denim sphere that was displayed on Sound Avenue in Riverhead.
Visitors of all ages are warmly invited to help weave the flag and attach their personal messages — creating a living tribute woven together by the community.
While you’re here, learn about Davis’ upcoming major public sculpture, Grateful Turnout (supported by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts). This powerful work honors firefighters and first responders and will be created with repurposed turnout gear, decommissioned fire hose, and other equipment. Donations of used first responder gear are actively being accepted.
Come for a few minutes or stay a while—everyone is welcome to contribute to this shared work of art.
Date: May 16
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
