2026 Fleece and Fiber Festival
The annual Fleece & Fiber Festival features artisans sharing handmade items for sale as well as shearing, spinning and weaving demonstrations, live music, special fiber-focused tours of the Hallock Homestead and more. Children’s activities, too!
When: Saturday May 16th 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Admission: $10. Children 12 and under are free.

Patty Lyons Workshops:
“PATTY LYONS (https://pattylyons.com/) is a nationally recognized knitting teacher and technique expert who is known for teaching the ‘why’ not just the ‘how’ in her pursuit of training the ‘mindful knitter.’ She specializes in sweater design and sharing her love of the much-maligned subjects of gauge and blocking.
Patty teaches nationally at guilds, shops & knitting shows around the country as well as hosting her own retreats. Her popular classes can also be found on DVD and online through her website on her education site education.pattylyons.com.
Patty’s design and knitting skill articles have been published in Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Knit Purl, Knitter’s Magazine, Cast On, Knit Style, Creative Knitting, and Twist Collective. Description of Class
There are so many wonderful knitting tricks that make our lives better. Over the years of knitting and teaching, I’ve accumulated quite a few fantastic tricks. I love it when I’m teaching a class and a student declares, “I love that tip!” So, I’ve decided to dig into my knitting bag of tricks and put them all in one class. From how to do a better SSK, make matching size YOs, to how to avoid the gap at the end of a bind off, how to tighten your first stitch, how to make better neck divides, and more. Get ready to find your new favorite knitting tricks!
Required Skills
Must know how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off, know simple increases and decreases. Having knit at least one sweater or followed an accessory pattern helpful but not required.

Advance Knitting Fixes Workshop with Patty Lyons:
Description of Class
Delve beyond picking up a dropped stitch into more major fixes. Do you feel like you make a bigger mess when trying to fix lace or shaping? Learn how to “tink” or un-knit increases and decreases without losing a stitch. Reverse a cable or add a missing cable many rows down. Fix common mistakes in lace such as a missing YO or a K2tog 3 rows down. Even learn how to shorten or lengthen your knitted piece. You have the power to fix without frogging!
Skill Prerequisite
Must know increases and decreases, know basic cabling. If you can knit the swatches, you can fix the swatches!!
Materials list –
Yarn- Worsted or chunky yarn, light, solid. Small amount of contrasting color yarn of the same weight
Needles –Needles the sizes you used to make your swatches, double pointed needles or circular needle one size smaller, a crochet hook H, I, J, or K or hook appropriate for your
swatch
Accessories – Large locking stitch markers, scissors, darning needle, stitch holder

Basket Weaving with Barbara Blossey-Chuvalas:
Join Master Basket weaver Barbara Blossey-Chuvalas as she guides you through the process of creating a natural fibers basket. In this class you will be free to create a personal basket using different materials. These include: yarns, wool, silk, seagrass, reed, rafia, and more! The base and spokes will be set up for you allowing you to dive right into weaving.
When: May 16th, 10am to 1pm
Price: $50
Material Fee: $45 payable to the instructor upon arrival to the class.
Introduction to Weaving Workshop:
Join the Paumanok Weavers to create your own unique scarf using your left-over yarns — be it handspun, art or commercial yarns. We will also provide yarns to use for your project if needed. All weaving will be done on multi-shaft looms that will be already prepared for the class. Experienced weavers will assist you through the process from start to finish. You will leave with your scarf, ready to wear your own creation.
