AMENITIES & POLICIES
Amenities
Parking
Parking is included in any visitor or special event fee. Please enter the main driveway at 6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead NY 11901 and park in the paved parking lot. Visitors must check in at the Hudson-Sydlowski House, which is adjacent to the driveway and faces Sound Avenue.
For special events, parking may be restricted to other areas and the main driveway may be closed. However, there will be signs and staff instructing drivers on how to proceed safely.
Picnic Area
We invite you to enjoy the shady and serene picnic area in the apple orchard just north of the Hudson House. We ask that all visitors dispose of their trash and recyclables in the provided containers. If you have leftovers, do not feed the animals. Feeding the animals is prohibited.
Walking Paths
Visitors are welcome to follow the paved paths on the museum property and enjoy the scenery at their own pace. Please note that the terrain is uneven at points and reflects the true rustic nature of an 18th century farmstead.
Policies
Animals
For the safety of the animals and visitors, feeding of the animals is not permitted. The cows, sheep and chickens that reside at Hallockville are here for interpretative purposes, to show what a typical farming family would have. Visitors are not permitted to enter the animal enclosures.
Photo Shoots
All photo shoots, commercial, private and otherwise, require permission in advance from museum staff. Call 631-298-5292 to schedule your shoot.
