Saturday, May 7
9:00 am – 11:00 am, $10 per person
Led by MaryLaura Lamont of Hallock State Park Preserve.
Walk the fields and woods of the Museum farm and State Preserve finding and observing a great variety of migrating birds as they head north to their breeding grounds. Peak migration season is now for thousands of birds and this land on Long Island Sound is a great feeding and resting spot for birds on their long journey. Particular emphasis will be placed on neo-tropical migrants such as grosbeaks, vireos, and warblers.
Bring binoculars, tick spray, and prepare to walk about 2-3 miles. Meet in the parking lot at Hallockville Museum Farm.
