Hallockville Museum Farm’s Summer 2022 exhibit features recent donations to the collection, each with its own story. These pieces include a candlewick bedspread made in 1829 by a grandmother who wanted to be remembered by her namesake granddaughter; a spinning wheel engraved with the maker’s name unlocking the provenance of other wheels in the Museum’s holdings; a collection of quilts sewn by close relatives of the Hallock’s revealing a family secret. Many of the artifacts in the exhibit demonstrate the connections between the Hallock family and their North Fork community.
Does your family have treasured keepsakes? Heirlooms with long-lost stories waiting to be discovered? We hope this exhibit will encourage you to start asking important questions about your family heritage.
