SUMMARY:Sound Avenue Stitchers
DESCRIPTION:The Sound Avenue Stitchers is a small\, friendly group created for sharing and continuing fiber arts traditions.  Fiber arts include sewing\, quilting\, needlepoint\, macrame\, weaving\, felting\, crocheting\, knitting\, embroidery\, rug hooking\, basket weaving and more.  Our group’s mission is to share techniques\, innovations and products\, upcoming events and shops pertaining to fiber arts\, and to socialize while working on our own projects.  We may have demonstrations by fellow stitchers and create items for donation. \nThe Stitchers meet at Hallockville Museum Farm\, in the Hudson-Sydlowski House meeting room\, on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Please join us for all things fiber arts and for fun conversations!

DESCRIPTION:Join The Old Mill Inn and Hallockville Museum Farm to celebrate the history of Prohibition on the North Fork \nWe will begin the evening in the Historic Naugles Barn\, rumored to be built with rum-running profits. There\, Historian Amy Folk\, author of Rumrunning in Suffolk County: Tales from Liquor Island will dive into how the North Fork was a perfect spot for smuggling alcohol. Twin Stills Distillery will explore the distilling process and offer samples. \n\n\n\nThen head to The Old Mill Inn for passed period canapès and an option of three Prohibition era cocktails.
